Getting there...

A wee bit of life drawing, and some stuff I did earlier today...

Here are a couple of little ink and acrylic doodles I developed into potential designs for a sculpture.

 

And a couple of bits of life drawing...

I am going to say this is finished.

First steps into sculpture this year....

 The process started with a series of expressive drawings based on the Penshaw Monument and the Apollo Pavillion. I found this extremely difficult as I have spent a lot of time trying to draw accurately and carefully so to throw caution to the wind was a little more difficult than Id have hoped. These are a selection of what I think are the most successful.

And here are how I interpreted these expressive drawings, in 3 dimensions. I think they all turned out as well as they were likely to given the time and tools and materials available. Next step is to develop them further, something I am looking forward to very much.

I like the haphazard but still geometric nature of them. The remind me of a forest, with all the components being secure but seeimg to perch precariously.

Gold fish are my favourite things...
